2012 Cross Crusade #1, Alpenrose Dairy

PORTLAND — Alpenrose Dairy hummed with cyclocross madness Sunday as 1,400 ‘crossers from near and far swarmed to Southwest Portland for the first battles of the 2012 Cross Crusade, which opened its season under the Pacific Northwest’s extended summer-like weather. Gravel, the velodrome and a lot of dust animated the racing as the 2012 campaign started in earnest. Check out the photo gallery below for a glimpse of the action.
