VANCOUVER — Ryan Trebon ( and Julie Krasniak (Rapha-Focus) repeated last week’s performance’s at the season opener to win round two of the Grand Prix Tina Brubaker Sunday on the sandy beaches of Vancouver Lake Park during Het Meer CX.

Washington hosted the second consecutive week of OBRA cyclocross following the Sept. 1 opener at David Douglas Park, and the long sandy beaches along the namesake lake provided the challenge over the mostly flat, European-style course.

Trebon topped Barry Wicks this week in the Elite men’s race, although the two former teammates stuck together for the first half of the 60-minute race before Trebon eventually opened a comfortable gap and soloed in for his second consecutive win in as many weeks. Eugene’s Luke Demoe (Evviva-Stoemper) rounded out the podium.

Krasniak had new competition this week in the Elite women’s race, although the result was the same. The French rider, who now lives in Portland, beat Beth Ann Orton (Team S&M Les Femmes) and Rhonda Morin (Sorella Forte) to cement her lead in the local series before the national calendar heats up in the coming weeks.

The next race of the Grand Prix Tina Brubaker is the Saturday race of the weekend Double Cross at Cascade Locks Sept. 15-16.
