Oregonians in mix at CX Natz Day 1
MADISON, Wisc. — The USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships started today in Madison, Wisc., with a handful of “open” races, but only the Singlespeed championships were decided.
Aaron Bradford of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Kari Studley of Bothell, Wash., took home the stars-and-stripes jerseys for the men’s and women’s Singlespeed races Wednesday. Non-championship races included the women’s open, where Portland’s Anne Kennedy finished sixth, along with open races for men 10-29, 30-39 and 40+.
Championship racing continues with events for Masters men and women. Racing starts at 9:30 a.m. (Central Time) and ends with the 40-minuite Masters Men 55-59 race at 3 p.m. (Central Time). Awards follow at 4:15.
