Oregon results from CX Natz Day 3
MADISON, Wisc. — Juniors and Masters held the dance card today at the USA Cycling Cyclocross Nationals in Madison, Wisc. Friday brought warmer temperatures, thawing out the course and leaving behind some super slick mud just in time for the day’s racing.
Oregon riders were once again in the mix, with Bend Endurance Academy’s Cameron Beard highlighting the day with a bronze medal finish in the Junior 13-14 race. Beard got a last-row call-up (31st) and dropped the hammerto move through the field and into the medals. Dawson Stallings, Lance Haidet and Keenan Reynolds, all of Bend, got held up in a first-lap pile up but fought back in true Oregon Junior style. Bend’s Alice Drobna also hit the top 10 with a ninth-place finish in the hotly contested women’s 35-39 race. (More Oregon riders results below).
Saturday’s racing will see seven more stars-and-stripes jerseys in women’s Collegiate D1/D2 and men’s 17-18, U23, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44 and 45-49. Racing starts at 9 a.m. (Central Time) and concludes with the 45-minute Masters 30-34 race at 3:45 p.m.
