Beardsley, Walle win Hammer Velo crit

PORTLAND — Steven Beardlsey (Gentle Lovers) easily outsprinted the Senior Men’s field Saturday to take the Hammer Velo Criterium on Swan Island. Ironcald Performance Wear’s Brianna Walle tried to lead out teammate Jenn Levo for the win in the Senior Women’s race, but the reigning OBRA criterium champion had to jump ahead of Levo for the win when Upper Echelon Fitness rider Heather VanValkenburg made a late surge for the line.
