VanValkenburg, Tresser win Monday PIR

PORTLAND — West End Bikes claimed the top two spots in the Masters 1/2/3 race Monday night at PIR, placing Christian Tresser first and John Mitchem second. Bicycleattornery.com’s Tom Ghilarducci finished third.

Heather VanValkenburg (Diamond Law Cycling) took the Senior women’s win in front of July series leader Jenn Levo (Ironclad Performance Wear) and Kristina Lackner.

Michael Squire won the Masters 4/5 race, finishing ahead of John Porter (Bellovaci United) and July series winner Kevin Ward (Team Oregon/Laurelwood Brewing). Craig Armstrong won the Novice Masters men’s race. Glenn Johnson (Lewis & Clark Ultra) was second. Jeff Wygant (Team Highlander) grabbed the third spot.
