PORTLAND — Alpenrose Velodrome is scheduled for a little TLC Sunday when the yearly preseason clean-up kicks off at 10 a.m. with pancakes and coffee provided by local bicycle component maker Chris King.

“Be prepared lift and tote, scrape paint, paint buildings, pull weeds and generally clean up the place to get ready for this year’s track racing season,” the event flier announces. “We are lucky in Portland to have access to a facility that other cities wish they could have. One day a year we’ve gotta put some elbow grease into it to keep it going. Come be a real part of what makes the Alpenrose Velodrome awesome and possible.”

The Portland Velodrome Committee will be providing lunch.
