Moss, Beardsley win Albany Crit

ALBANY — Gentle Lovers’ Steven Beardsley doubled up on wins last weekend, taking Sunday’s Albany Criterium just one day after snagging the Longview Grand Prix. Jan Moss (Sorella Forte) got the victory in the Albany women’s race after contributing to a teammate’s winning effort in Longview.

Beardsley finished the 60-minute men’s Cat 1/2 race with a comfortable lead ahead of Denny Rowe (Westwood Velo-Vertebrata) and Stephen Bedford (Team Oregon/Laurelwood), the runner-up in Longview. Moss, who finished 7th in the Cat 1/2/3 race at Longview after helping teammate Emily Charbonneau take the win, got her chance for victory Sunday. She finished head of Charbonneau and third-placed Zayda “Sarah” Maguire (Kenda/Geargrinder).
