PORTLAND — Brendan Gallant (HPChiro/Alpine Mortgage) piled up 23 points on his way to taking the win Tuesday night during the second week of the August PIR series. Gallant, who won last week’s race as well, finished ahead of Stephen Bedford (Team Oregon/Laurelwood Brewing) and teammate Josh Liberles.

Nearly 140 riders ventured out to PIR Tuesday night for the second week of the August series. The shadows got long toward the end of the evening as the groups wound it up for the finish.

In the Cat 3/4 race, Ironclad Performance Wear’s Rob Thompson got the win with 18 points, one better than runner-up Kevin Bernstein (Capitol Velo Cycling Club). Stephen Glass (Jens Voigt’s Army) was third with 15. Edward Rogers (Jens Voigt’s Army) won the Cat 4/5 race ahead of Davis Hand and Brooks Deese.
