Davis Usher, Nicoletti lead Tabor

PORTLAND — Sam Nicoletti (Gentle Lovers) and Anne Davis Usher (Upper Echelon Fitness) lead the Senior men’s and women’s categories heading into week four of the six-race Mt. Tabor Series that ends July 13. The “Velo on the Volcano” Wednesday evening series started June 8.

Nicoletti has piled up 220 points over the first three weeks, with Bridgetown Velo’s David Sherman closest to him at 156.  Team Oregon rider Brendan Treacy’s second-place finish last week behind Ryan Trebon (LTS/Felt) put him in third overall with 113 points.

Davis Usher’s two wins having her sitting atop the women’s category with 200 points. Therapeutic Associates’ Sarah Fletcher is closest to Davis Usher in the overall series chase, with 110 points. Amy Campbell is third with 106.

In the high-rpm fixed-gear competition, Brush Walton (West End Bikes/Specialized) has the lead with 200 points. Team Slow’s Ed Groth has 146 for second. Therapeutic Associates’ Erik Hofland and Diamond Law Cycling’s Brian Kesselman are tied for third with 140 each. Chris Thomas leads the Cat 3 men’s series, while Sean Corey (Trusty Switchblades) has the lead for the Cat 4 men. In the Cat 4 women’s competition, leader Lindsay Kandra is in a tight race with Anne Heiner. Colin Daniel has the lead in the Cat 5 men’s series.

John Mitchem (West End Bikes/Specialized) is fighting last year’s winner John Browning (Cyclepath Racing) for the overall series lead in the Masters men race. Scott Powell (Veloce) is in third. Jan Moss (Sorella Forte) leads the women’s Masters series, with Laura Trace and Sarah Tisdale (Sorella Forte) second and third, respectively.
