Campbell, Schultz win Monday PIR

PORTLAND — Warmer-than-usual weather brought more than 170 riders out for Monday PIR this week, the second race of the May series. Dave Campbell won the Masters Men Cat 1/2/3 race and Alexandria Schultz (Ironclad Performance Wear) took the Open Women’s win.

Campbell finished with 15 points on the evening, tied with runner-up Jason Riffle (HPChiro/Alpine Mortgage Planning), but his better finishing sprint result made the difference.’s Brian Engelhard was third with 12. Schultz, new to Ironclad from the Portland State University collegiate team, won a close women’s race by one point over Alexandra Burton (Upper Echelon Fitness Women’s Cycling) and by four over Hammer Velo’s Tiffany Severson in third.

Leah de Forest won the Novice women’s race ahead of Vivian Satterfield and Inge Wortman. Doug Carmean won the Novice men’s race in front of Rick Boston and Dylan Cernitz (Half Fast Velo). Alan Sutton (Cyclepath) won the Masters Men 4/5 race ahead of  Michael Girard (Portland Velo) and Mark Adamski (Portobello Bicycle Racing).
