Van Uden goes out with win at PIR Tuesday Nighter
PORTLAND — Rubicon-Orbea’s prolific winner Roman van Uden notched one last victory in Oregon Tuesday night at PIR before heading home to New Zealand next week. The Portland Twilight Criterium winner racked up 21 points over the evening in a tight battle with Rapha Racing’s John Leonard, who finished just one point behind. Guinness Cycling’s Cliff Heaberlin and Jason Riffle (HPC/Scott’s Cycles) tied with 15.
Hammer Velo’s Lincoln Wettenhall won the Cat 3/4 race in front of Mark Crawford (Ironclad Performance Wear) and Brad Whetstone (Colorado State). Jesse Trigg won the Cat 4/5 race ahead of Matthew Rider (Team Bike Tires Direct) and Michael Scalzo.
