Wicks, Trebon go one-two at Bend’s Crossaflixion Cup #2

BEND — Kona-FSA’s Barry Wicks took a week off from the national cyclocross scene and snagged a win Saturday at the Crossaflixion Cup #2. Teammate Ryan Trebon finished second as the pair prepare to defend Trebon’s USGP leader’s jersey when that series culminates in Portland Dec. 5 and 6. Then the Kona duo will try and defend Trebon’s national champion’s kit Dec. 13 in Bend.
DeSalvo Custom Cycles’ Ben Thompson finished third in the frigid conditions Saturday, with Cody Peterson (Hutch’s) and Bart Bowen (Rebound Sports Performance) rounding out the top five.
Vanilla Workshop’s Tina Brubaker won the Women’s A event but finished second to Masters A winner Renee Scott in a combined race. Karen Kenlan finished third overall. Stephanie Uetrecht (Webcyclery.com) finished fourth, with Sami Fornier (Cyclosportif) crossing the line fifth.
